Telemedicine System |
||
|
The objective of the telemedicine system is the provision of valid assistance to those doctors and/or medical specialists in remote rural clinics by means of information and telecommunication technologies. By and large doctors working at small rural hospitals must attend various type of diseases irrespective of their specialties. On top of that rural hospitals are not well equipped for making accurate diagnoses . In conveniently enough, doctors of rural minor hospitals, in case of need, have to consult respective specialist doctors at urban major hospitals about their patients diagnoses by telephone, fax or even by mail. Under the medical environment today where treatments are ramified and deeply specialized, doctors in local clinics even with high-tech equipment encounter problem in giving the right and precise diagnosis with the data obtained by such equipment, and this inclination is more serious in those developing countries with vast territory. The recent amazing development of information and communication technology especially that of digitalization of medical image data has enabled doctors at remote rural hospitals to consult "specialist" doctors at urban major hospitals on the diagnosis of their patients simultaneously sharing X-ray, MIR images etc. on their PC display at the both ends. BHN Association(BHN) is pleased to grant such telemedicine system at hospitals in need of it in developing countries.. BHN will furnish at its cost the necessary equipment for the referrals from minor clinics to supporting major hospital together with network arrangement and technical and operational training as required. The system generally consists of storage servers with digital medical records, work stations (PCs), telecommunications adaptors such as router/modem. The system runs over internet protocol. Therefore, access to perpetual high speed internet connection is a minimum telecom infrastructure to realize this service. However, alterative system tailored to the environment of each hospitals interested in this system may also be studied to BHN
Association is looking for local partners to implement the telemedicine
system with. Such should be eligible local partners as medical
institutions (hospitals/clinics), government and/or neutral
non-governmental organization engaged in medical activities. For
